organic food? if organic food is grown without any pesticides how do they keep the insects away? why is it more expensive if they are saving money on chemicals and such? do we need to wash it more and watch out for buggies??
Is organic food really good for your health? I'm not a strict vegetarian or health conscious person. But thesedays, if there were organic products and regular products, I'd choose to buy organic products believing its gonna do something good for my health. Are there any real difference in organic food and others? Like let's say I have this organic pasta. How good is it for me than eating regular pasta?
Can you taste the difference between organic and non organic food? I had to do a science fair project on if you can tell the difference in taste between organic and non organic cookies. People could taste the difference between the Oreos and Newman O's so I was wondering if people have tasted the difference in other foods. Please don't tell me about how you think organic food is a scam. Thanks!
Is there any hard evidence that organic food is better for you? I am trying to feed my family organic food and I was just wondering if there is proof out there that organic is better.Organic food is so expensive and I don't want to waste my money if there is no point.I have searched the internet, but can't really find anything saying yes or no.Does anyone know?
what are exact differences between food and Organic food? Hi everyone, I am wondering what are the differences between the regular food we buy at the store with organic? I know it has more vitamins, minerals and less bad stuff ,so could you please explain how much. Also how dangerous can be non organic food? Thank you!
Is the organic food business a scam? I've seldom seen anyone who is an admitted organic food buyer be any healthier than the standard consumer. I even knew several people who got sick from these foods. And then there's the grocers that buy standard food, re-label it as "organic" and hike the price. Does the organic food biz appeal more to people's fears than common sense?
Can you recommend a widely available organic food brand? I enjoy eating organic when possible (and affordable) and I often buy the O Organics brand of food available at Safeway. Are there any other brands of USDA certified organic foods that are fairly affordable and widely available at major grocery stores like Safeway, Top Foods, Fred Meyer, etc.? Please, no answers about how organic food is a "scam." Also, I do shop at farmer's markets and health food stores occasionally. I am just wondering about the major grocery stores like I said above. Thanks!
Why do you buy organic food? Have you investigated its supposed benefits? I'm really frustrated at the cult-like adoption of organic food amongst a certain demographic. Did you know that: * the safety standards that many anti-GM (genetically modified) food campaigners want to impose on GM food couldn't be passed by organic food? * no chicken has contained hormones for decades? (It was made illegal in the 60s/70s, depending on country) * testing shows that >90% of non-organic food has zero detectable residue? (And the remaining generally having measurements that are magnitudes lower than the scientifically established safe exposure levels.) http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article1167293.ece http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_food If you still buy organic food after investigation, is it because you don't believe that the science is accurate, or because you eat organic food for other than nutritional or environmental reasons?
Would you prefer all food to be organic? Do you think the new trend of eating healthy will catch on? Is organic food going to replace all other food one day? What is the difference? What are the benefits?
How many of you out there eat Organic food? With the awareness increasing of the cancer causing toxins in our food, how many of you are actually paying more for Organic Food? I made the switch to organic only a few months ago and I feel better than I have in years.
Do Organic Food Nazis realise the purpose of preservatives and pesticides? Preservatives preserve food by slowing or totally preventing spoilage. Pesticides keep off.... take a guess.... pests!!!! I decided to try some corn on the cob from Whole Foods Market this summer and in 5 out of 10 of the cobs there were LIVE maggots. To the organic food nazis: What should I have done with the maggots? Hugged them? Set them free? Allowed them to eat with me? It seems that the function of preservatives and pesticides is totally lost on these people. They have no clue what they are for. To those who say that preservatives and pesticides definitively cause diseases at the rate normal human beings consume them then please post references.
How important do you think it is to feed your baby organic food? I've been reading articles lately about how preservatives in food cause little girls to mature faster. Girls are getting breasts/their periods earlier and earlier (as early as age 7 or 8!) and it is being linked to chemicals/preservatives in a lot of food these days... Do you feed your baby only organic food? Do you think it really makes a big difference? Or is it more for peace of mind that you do it?
Poll for Study Being Conducted by Columbia University: Organic Food? I am a student at Columbia University and am conducting a poll for a research paper regarding organic food labels. Please respond to the following two questions: Do you shop organic (food)? What does the label "organic" (on food products) mean to you? I appreciate your time and consideration; please do not respond if you are uncomfortable with these statistics in a research paper. No names will be included. Thank you.
How can it be justified to have organic food to cost more than conventionally raised food? When raising conventional food, one uses pecticieds as compared to natural pesticides with organic (organic less expensive). Chemical fertilizers compared to organic fertilizers (organic natural and less expenisive ie manures etc) How can this justify the higher cost of organic food as compared to commercially grown (less expensive) and having to purchase chemicals etc. Doing artifical pollination as oposed to natural pollination. The list goes on and onl. This boggles my mind. I know from my own garden by not having to spend money on poisons and artificial fertilizers it costs me less to grow vegatables than if I used chemicals and other artificial means. Then why are we being charged more for a vegatable or a piece of meat that has no chemicals that are costly to produce, distribute, and apply as compared to natural herbicides, fertilizers, etc. that are plentiful and less expensive to use?
What do you think about organic food? Do you buy it for yourself? Do you buy it for your pets? The reason why I ask is because I notice people buy tons of expensive organic food/products and buy the cheapest food for their pets.
What are the effects of cooking/frying Non-organic food on the antibiotics and other material in it? Organic food doesn't contain antibiotics and other toxics, are these in non-organic food ruines or disolve during cooking? This is from consumer reports: Hormones. Studies suggest that synthetic growth hormones may be carcinogenic and that exposure to them may be linked to the precocious onset of puberty in girls. The USDA bans the use of such hormones in all poultry (organic or not), but when it comes to hogs, beef, or dairy cattle, only organic producers are legally bound not to use them. Antibiotics. Farmers’ widespread use of antibiotics to speed up animals’ growth and to deal with health issues that crop up from keeping animals in overcrowded and unsanitary pens has helped spawn antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This resistance increases the odds that a drug that might have saved your life if you were to be hit by, say, a life-threatening case of food poisoning will now do you no good. Other toxins. Nonorganic foods can expose you to a range of other contaminants with potential health risks. Conventionally raised chicken, for example, eat feed that can contain neurotoxins, such as arsenic or h
Why does Organic food cost so much? Shouldn't food that uses sprays, herbacides, pesticides and genetic engineering cost more than organic food that purposely does not put anything in it? Yet - Organic costs more! Why?
Anybody know a type of Organic dog food I should buy? Well my dog's vet said my dog needs Organic food What type should I get?? Well my area has different types of Dog Food. But I can not have it shipped to my home. I actually don't know very many types of the dog food.
Is there a taste difference between organic and non-organic food? I am well aware of the health benefits of organic food, but I was wondering if most people can taste a difference between the two. I am also curious about the taste of organic meat (100% grass fed cows, no injected hormones/antibiotics, etc) vs regular meat. P.S. I put this in Alternative Medicine because I figured that most people who read this category would be familiar with this food choice.
Where can I buy organic food in chicago? I am developing this phobia about food that is not organic. I have a baby and want to buy the best for her, and also for myself and my husband. I'm looking especially for organic meats... I've been looking for sometime, and can't find such a place. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Does buying organic food really make a difference? Is shopping organic enough to help make a difference in the way people treat animals, the earth and its resources-- specifically when it comes to our food and beverage supply--? What else can I do to live earth friendly and encourage more earth healthy (and people healthy) lifestyles? And I have a follow up question...I have read that part of the reason that organic foods are more expensive is because chemically altered or supported foods receive government subsidies--so we pay less at the cashier but overall we are paying just as much through taxes etc. True? Any comments or thoughts on this would be appreciated too!
What do I need to Grow organic food? If I wanted to start up my own business growing organic food, what equipment and resources would I need? and what things do I need that are specifically used for growing organic food and not regular farming.
Is there a reliable source of natural/organic food in New Braunfels, TX? Hey, all of you lucky residents of the best water park town in the world! I am planning on visiting Schlitterbahn for a few days in Aug. & staying at a campground nearby. I am vegan & my friend has a serious colon condition that necessitates a source of fresh, unprocessed, organic food. Are there grocery stores near Schlitterbahn with such food? I didn't see a Whole Foods but perhaps they have a co-op somewhere?
Has anyone ever made their own organic baby food? My baby will be 6 months soon. I am breastfeeding, so I am going to wait till then. I really want to make my own organic food. I have bought some books already, but haven't received them. I wanted to see if anyone had some advice or tips for making their own purees.
For all the people who eats organic food, please answer this? I know that organic food is expensive due to the highest quality of it's products and by not using any chemical pesticides they usually possess in other kind of foods. How much of the money you spend in all kind of foods you dedicate to "organic foods" only? Also, where do you live? Thanks
What is better: local or organic food? Given a choice between non-organic local food (grown within 100 miles) or organic food imported from across the country or even another country, which would you choose?
What is your opinion on Organic Food Co-ops? We have been educated to the benefits of Organic Foods but they are expensive! Has anyone had experience with the Organic Food Co-ops? Which is the best one and what is the quality of the foods?
Why are organic food so expensive? In this day and age I think its a trend more than anything. I am a nanny and the family that I care for does a lot of the organic food. I admit some of it tastes a lot better and don't doubt that our bodies can do without all the additives, etc. But if these things are being omitted, why is it more expensive? Maybe organic food is like DVD players. Really expensive at first, but when everyone is getting them, the price goes down. ( I know, my analogy is stupid!)
Whats the point of buying expensive organic food for cats? A month ago I asked a question about what cat foods are the best. People started naming all these brands I had never heard of in my life people said the were organic foods. What is the point of wasting your time and money on organic stuff. Cats could care less!!
What is a good gift for an organic food lover? What is a good gift for a person who is new mother and is health conscious about the things she feeds and uses with her family. She has just switched to buying organic foods and has become vey aware of harmful chemicals in alot of products.
Do you think organic jarred baby food or not organic homemade baby food is better? Ok so i spend about 50 dollars on only a few veg. and fruits that only lasted about a week for my daughter. I can't afford to do that every week! Food prices are getting rediculous. Do you think that it's better to buy organic food in jars or make her food that isn't organic?? I'll still make a few things but majority would be out of jars...
*.*.*.*.*ORGANiC *.*.*.*.FooD.*.*.*.? Ok I really need to know a few details about organic Food. 1, Who started organic food 2, Are there any brands of organic food - I live in Australia so preferably brands that are world known or Australian 3,Reason for starting organic food / reason for trend. Please and Thankyou pinko0omonkey
Organic food? Let me start off by saying that I find non-organic food to be repulsive. It conatins heavy amount of pesticides and bacteria and can cause sserious health problems. I;m not legal yet, and am not old enough to get a job where I live, and my parents can't really afford organic food. They try to buy it when they can but that doesn't happen often. I'd like to buy my own food with the money that I have, but I know that everyone in the house will end up eating it all before I get a chance to take a piece. Really what should I do I can't take it any more, and I still ahvent found any cheapish organic food stores inmy area. Yeah, I know of Trader Joe's they don't have one in my state :[
Organic food? I buy organic food all the time, it's pricey but I'd rather eat organic food. My question is why do we have to pay for organic food ? Shouldn't everyone be able to eat organic ?
Organic Food? ok, so just discovered what organic means and done a bunch of research and have decided it is whats best to stay healthy, iv found it to be an easy transition taste wise, but finding available organic food, mainly veggies & fruits hard. i went to walmart and they were for the most part useless, they had some things, but when i went 2 schnucks another grocery in my area, they had a good assortment of things from a brand called full circle. i like it very much, its a tad more expensive, but everything tastes the same as "regular food", my problem is that, even though they had a bunch of stuff avai;able 2 buy organic, it still left me with little options compared 2 regular shopping. they only had a few fruits and veggies available, and none of them were typical, like oranges, apples, pears, etc, iv looked in my area for health stores but none seem to have much, does anyone know of a good, average priced online store that i could order from? and are there any other brands like full circle??
oRGANIC FOOD??? IS ORGANIC FOOD BETTER FOR YOU, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BEWTWEEN ORGANIC FOOD AND THE REGULAR FOODS, BESIDES THE PERSERVATIVES???????????????
Organic Food? Who else thinks its bad that we now pay a premium for organic food? I've just spoken to my mum who says that years ago organic food was cheap and the norm! Also I've just seen an advert for BUPA advertising clean wards! Are they saying NHS wards are dirty??
Organic Food . . .? Why is organic food more expensive? What happens to it when being grown/produced that means it has to cost more than it's non organic opposite?
Organic food? What are the benefits of eating organic? Is it really worth paying more for food?
Organic Food? Do you think Organic food is really better for you.?
Organic Food? Is organic milk and organic eggs better for a pregnant woman and the baby than regular milk and eggs or am I just wasting my money?
Organic Food? Does anyone think or know that prices on organic produce will go down?
Organic food? What are the benefits of using organic products and where can i find them especially in Kenya?
Organic food? Do you buy it? What products do you buy? What differences do you notice between the organic and 'regular' versions?
Organic food? craze, do you think its worth the price we have to pay, how do we know its really organic
Organic baby food vs. variety? I have been feeding my daughter organic baby food. I wanted to go organic for the first year just to atleast get her on a good start. She is now starting "2nd foods" and when I went to the super market today I noticed that the variety of organic 2nd foods (of all organic brands, not just gerber) was much less than the non organic foods. Basically there were like 10 organic second foods to choose from and about 50 non organic second foods. I went on gerber and earth's best's websites and they just don't make as much variety in the 2nd foods in organic as they do in non organic foods. So although I wanted to do organic I am also very concerned about my daughter experiencing a variety of foods so that she will not be a picky eater (like my husband who eats chicken for every meal!). So thanks for reading through this long question, basically I'm asking do you think it's more important to go the organic route or is it more important to introduce her to a variety of foods early? Please no suggestions about making my own baby food please. I have no intentions of making my own! Thanks!
Are organic food consumers a bunch of crackpots? Is the hype surrounding organic food, from those for it and those against it, stifling rational discussion and obscuring the truth? It seems that non-organic food producers view the demand for organic produce as a ridiculous fad supported by a lunatic fringe of assorted malcontents and conspiracy theorists; and non-organic food consumers will dismiss organic food as unnecessary, over-priced, and a massive con perpetrated by the food distributors. On the other hand organic food consumers appear to accept, as an act of faith, that organic food contains no chemical pesticides, fertilizers, or antibiotics. And are organic farmers, struggling against contamination of their produce, reluctant to discuss the real extent of pollution in their soil and ground-water from air, rain, and dust in the atmosphere? What is the real truth about organic food? Is it right to conclude organic produce is better for our health? And what is the true environmental cost of organic food production? The provocative statements I used to elaborate my original question are not my personal opinions, and my question is not a personal attack against organic farming or organic food. Most answers so far are providing lots of good information both for and against. It is a fact that organic food consumers are often dismissed as crackpots, aging hippies and faded flower children. by a biassed media that is 'sponsored' by ads from big business. This media is unwilling to risk losing revenue from these ads, so in most published media 'organic' consumers have been made to look ridiculous. Fortunately, organic farmers and food consumers are challenging such hostile media opinion. Please let me know what you think.
Organic food worth the hype? I know that there has been a huge increase in the market for organic foods in the last decade or so. From a strictly health standpoint, is it worth crossing the line to organic? I know that certain foods, like milk, really should be all organic, but what about dry foods (I saw organic pretzels in the store the other day. It seems a bit ove the top)? And is there a significant difference in fruits and produce? Organic food tends to be on the more expensive end--is it worth it?
WHy do some people think that Organic food is no different than regular food? Have you ever looked at the ingredients of some organic food and compared it to the normal? One example is pizza! I looked at the differences between two pizzas. One being organic and the non organic. The list ingredients on the non organic pizza was long enough to write a book! Where as the organic had just basic ingredients! Organic flour, Organic spinich ect. This is why I choose to eat organic food! Why do companies need to put all of this other junk in the food? It does not help the taste one bit! I mean when I compare organic to non organic I can taste a huge difference! The organic always tastes better! Also most od these people who are critical of the organic diet have never even tried it! lol... I would challenge anyone to go on an organic diet for about 6 months of so, and then see what happens! Its sad that every non organic food item you buy has these ingredients that alot of us cannot even pronounce the words of! Mattmid20 after reading some of the questions and answers in your profile I find you to be a pathetic hypocrite who is very onviously uneducated at best! Did you graduate high school? And Organic food is better for you than the rest! Jsut face the fact! I find it interesting that you are on here talking about how dangerous certain chemicals are and ect. But then you say people should not eat healthy! What does eating organic food have to do with being better than somebody else? GET AND EDUCATION!!!! Quit being a pill popping high school drop out and get yourself a real education! So what! Some words where not spelled correctly! I type fast, so it happens. At least I am more educated than you will ever dream!
organic food, hi everybody is so nice, thanks for all your answers, now i am wondering? about organic food. i always buy organic fruits and vegetables for my son to cook, plus i give him the earth best organic food in the jars. now sometimes i let him try our food, like rice, or noodles, or white bread..., but it's not organic. do you think its ok to give him unorganic rice, noodles, bread, as long the fruits and veggies are organic??? how do you do it??? thanks again for you help
Is organic food really organic? I visited a whole foods store yesterday for the first time. the vegetables are labled organic -- but none of these vegetables had the brown spots and insect gnaw areas on them like the ones i grow in my own garden. also -- the organic beef boasted the the cows lived on fresh air, pure water and organic foods. how can one be so sure? i think its all a scam. the prices were double of what normal foods cost. it's impossible to guarantee 100% that the water a cow is drinking is pure as also the air. all the food they eat would need to be 100% pure as well. then the cow would not be able to have ever had any vaccinations. herds don't do well without vaccinations. i've been told that these organic certifications are routine. who's in charge of the testing and how often is it done? your thoughts please.
Is Organic food a sham? They say that Organic Food is so much better than non-organic food...but I want to know how many chemicals are in my Non-Organic Apple vs. my Organic Apple....or my Organic hormone/ anti-biotic free Filet Mignon vs. my Wal-Mart special Filet Mignon. They have had to of done studies to see how many chemicals get transferrred to the on-Organic food.
organic baby food vs. making my own? i still have quite a while before my son will need baby food, but i was curious as to what you guys think about the whole organic vs. making the food thing. With my daughter i started out making the baby food but it got to be such a hassle i started buying the organic foods and she loved them. That was 4 years ago though and they are more expensive now i was just curious what other parents are doing about the baby food situation if i should suck it up and just buy the organic foods at 95 cents a jar or just make my own any input is greatly appreciated.
Organic food and weight loss??? I have always belived in Organic foods...the past 3 months we have completely switched to Oragnic all the way! Of course we aren't obsessed and still eat out and at other peoples house that do not use organic food. Anyway I have noticed that my appetite has increased (healthy not abnormal) and I have lost some weight...I went from a size 8 to a 6 now????? Could this be from eating the Organic foods? I feel better after I eat and not weighed down and bloated from the reg. foods. I have not increased additional exercise (i do work out though) and my activities are the same...this is the only thing I have changed in the past 3 months.
I once ate only organic food for about 2 months. I bought it online from an organic farm in California.? The food tasted great and I lost about 30 pounds in 2 months. My energy level skyrocketed and I felt great. You gotta realize that I ate as much as I wanted to eat morning, night, and noon. Also, I drank only organic drinks and also bottled water. I had to stop buying the organic food becuase it was too expensive and I could no longer afford it. As time passed I gained all of the weight back that I had lost. Never in my 47 years have I lost so much weight so fast while eating all that I wanted to eat with little exercise (I walked about 30 minutes a day). Why do you suppose that the organic food diet helped me to lose so much weight. Isn't food food, no matter if it is organic or not. PLease let me hear from some of you health freaks out there. Thanks a lot. PS - I sure wish I could afford to stay on an organic food diet - I bet I would lose 50 pounds if I could.!!
Organic Food Question? I am trying to lose weight and eat healthier. I am into organic foods but I'm having trouble getting organic food all the time. how can i get organic food without having to prepare everything i eat? (i have to bring a lunch everyday) thanks in advance.
Baby Food Organic vs Locally grown? My son is currently on all organic baby food. Unfortunately there is not a very large selection of organic baby food. I know there are several online stores I can order from (if I made six-figures =)) but I was actually thinking about making my own baby food at home. I was wondering from a health standpoint whether it would be better to feed him locally grown produce that has been SUPER carefully washed or if it would be better to purchase organic food from our local grocery store. What are your thoughts??
Is organic food dangerous? I have read that there is bacteria that can creep into organic food that is very harmful then foods that are treated. yet, I have also read how pesticides are making people sick ( not to mention me, when I look at it on my food and I cant always get it off my apples!). I have a stomach disorder which is dyspepsia and IBS. I thought that organic food might help lower the irritation to my gastro that chemicals may cause. HOwever who the hell do you beleive!?. I'm buying president choice organic right now, and I honestly dont know what to think. Being a student, its not that cheap. so I need to know if im making a worthy investment.
Why organic food is better? *Only people who eat organic foods. I have to write a speech convincing my class why organic food is better then your everyday foods! But here's the problem I don't even organic foods so I need all the help I can get!
Why are people so obsess with organic food? I believed organic food are more harmful than "non-organic" food. Organic food uses natural pesticides (e.g, the natural toxins made by plants) rather than the synthetic one. However, natural pesticides can be more dangerous (and may prehap cause more cancer). Furthermore, the quality of organic food sometimes are worse than "non-organic" food because natural pesticides are sometimes not effective (but they are way more expensive than non-organic food). So, why does everyone prefer organic food? No... those synthetic ones have been extensively tested (by FDA) so that it is extremely safe for human (and non organic food does not mean that it has dyes!). For example, copper sulphate and rotenone, which are approved for organic food pesticide, are shown to cause liver damage and Parkinson disease recently (but rarely in synthetic pesticide). Moreover, it is shown that the nutritional value of organic food is lower than that of non-organic food.
Organic food vs ordinary? Is organic food worth the money? Is there some evidence that it really does not contain any chemicals in it? Every week I spend about £120 ($240) on food, most of which is organic. Before when I was not into the oragnic stuff I used to spend max 70£. I am just wondering is it worth it? What do you prefer organic/non organic?
Organic dog food...which is best? I would like to feed my dog a well balanced diet that is the optimum available. I have an 80 pound Chocolate Lab female and I want something to keep her joints in good health as well. I'm not sure which is the best organic dog food as I have never fed her any organic or natural foods..she is on Science Diet right now and I have heard recently some not good things about that. Tell me how your pets have responded to organic foods.
eating out and organic food? what are some restaurants that serve organic food? i know there are some local places in every town that do have organic food, but are any of the bigger chains organic/partly organic? also, in a non-organic restaurant, what are the least harmful foods one can eat? i just switched to organic and eating out seems an absolute no-no.
do you truly believe that all the "organic" food sold is organic? why? do you buy it? why? i know not all of you live in large cities like me. it is utterly amazing to me how many people pay $1 more for a bag of carrots claiming to be "organic" than a bag that doesn't say that. i know that carrots could be grown in soil not polluted by chemicals, but so MANY of them? why are you spending so much money in trader vic's, whole foods, as well as the standard chains on "organic" food? it can't all be organic! where would the profit be? not enough farms have even tilled their own soil with natural fertilizers, from the wastes of their own animals, to even dream of calling their soil "organic." have you ever thought about that? there is very, very little truly organic food in grocery stores. so why do you blindly believe that you are getting organic when you can't possibly be, paying an arm and a leg for it? where do you shop for organic foods? which of the foodstuffs you buy can you honestly believe is organic? it costs a lot of $$$ to simply transport any food=high prices
Organic food regulations? I am in the process of trying to switch over to organic foods and I just found some information here on Yahoo answers that says that some states allow some pesticides to be used and still qualify the food as organic. Is this true or someone's opinion stated as a fact? Or are they speaking of organic sprays?
Is Organic Food “Global Warming Friendly?”? If someone is trying to reduce his or her “carbon footprint” then what is the best way to do so concerning food? Does organic food take more CO2 to bring it to the marketplace than non-organic? Does organic food have a shorter shelf life?
Organic food question? Ok...so this is kind of a dumb question but, Is organic better for you than normal food? What makes it better... And what exactly is organic foods? I a m thinking of switching to an all organic diet because of what I am hearing about it...but I am not exactly sure if i should do that considering I know slim to nothing about organics. Please help and thanks!
organic food is a lie? We all know processed foods are bad for you , especially how they are created , but how many vegetarians are eating empty food ? Nutritional quality of fruits and vegetables has hardly anything to do with "no chemicals ", but instead ,very much to do with mineral content in soils and especially the time of harvest and how they are stored after harvest and what they are stored with. Junk food is still junk food regardless of wether it's made with or without chemicals. Obesity and food related ilnesses are caused more by bad combinations in diets. So what if you have hemp pants and smoke organic tobbaco and all that jazz...you still feel safe? Vitamin and mineral content are dependant on healthy soil , time of harvest , temperature of storage as well as what fruits and vegetables are stored together , If the soil is unhealthy it makes no difference wether or not chemicals are used or not. Deficiencies in soil are passed directly to plants grown in said soil.Fact
organic food is nasty? so today i went shopping with my girlfriend for food and she got all this organic stuff like whole grain wheat bread, soy cheese, fat free milk, and sugar free organic soda. it by far is the nastiet stuff i have ever tasted, ow do you feel about organic foods?
Question about Cloned Food & Organic Food? With the FDA approving cloned food, Will Organic producers use cloned animals as well? My understanding of organic food is that they arent treated with any chemicals or pestacides. So Im wondering would Organic producers use this as a reason to use a clone animal and just feed it all natural products after it has been "born" or Created? They can make the arguement that they feed it all natural products from birth. They may try to use the creation part as a non factor. My problem with the FDA is they cannt be sure if there are long term effects from cloned food. This sickney and it has to some way be a volation of our right to know, because we should have a choice. I believe this is a move to try and get rid of having to purchase foods from other countries. This is wrong, This will back fire. Im sick of the Gov using us as lab rats, text dummies, and Trying to Play GOD.
Who else thinks organic food is overrated? I mean, I'm all for good food, but when people keep talking about organic food as if it's the best thing ever, it makes me skeptical and makes me think this is just some marketing gimmick that will turn into a fad. I hear about how it's healthier, tastes better, but it costs more that regular food. Why hasn't organic food been on the market for years already if everyone knew it was good? I have no problem with non-organic food; I think it's just great! Star if you agree!
boom of organic food in the uk grocery market? does anyone know when the real 'boom' in the organic food retailing industry was? I understand Organic food has been around for years, dating back to 1946 when the Soil Association was formed, however what year was it that Organic food really started to take off in the UK?
Which is better...organic high fat food or regular low fat foods??? I have noticed that organic foods are usually high in fat and calories.I am trying to feed my girls a healthier diet and I was wondering if all that reduced fat and low calorie is bad because of the stuff they put in it.I was trying to do all organic but it just costs too much for me.(I am a single mom)What is the best thing to do because I do like to stay away from processed and artifiacial food. Thanks
